America's history of regulating and controlling private ownership of handguns goes all the way back to 1865 when several southern states adopt the "black codes" which forbids African Americans from possessing guns.
Gun control is now an issue of how much control we need. Several Americans actually believe that by increasing gun control, crime will decrease.
Listening to the mainstream media, increasing gun control actually sounds pretty logical. However, our history, as well as other countries' history, have taught us that gun control simply does not work.
